Rustler Rodeo Fares well, Teague wins HS All Around

County rodeo athletes fared well in their weekend events. High school rodeo was in Laramie where Troy Teague of Wind River won the weekend All Around. He was first in both days of team roping to win the average. He was fifth in both days of steer wrestling and won the average in that event as well. He also placed in a day of calf roping.

Dahl and Corbin Nicholls were 2nd in the team roping. Devin Nicholls went 2nd and 3rd in the pole bending and won the average.

Riley Krassin, Calli Krassin, Tom Osborne, Heather Bregar, Shana Lyons, and Matt Schieck also placed in events over the two days at the Laramie rodeo. High school now takes a week off and gets back after it next weekend at Newcastle.

College Rodeo was in Sterling, Colorado, at the NJC event. CWC won the men’s division while the Lady Rustlers were second behind Wyoming.

The Rustler men are now up 2500 points on the next team in the regional standings after points 561 points this weekend. Tyler Hamaker finished fifth in the all around finishing 5th and 7th in the saddle broncs and bull riding.

Blaze Hamaker won the saddle broncs with Seth Glause second. Bryan Jones was the bareback champion.

Brad Scheick and Chelsea Moore finished fourth in the team roping with Chase Bierma and Chance Nicholls right behind in fifth.

The Ladies finished second with Jessica Picchietti was 3rd in the breakaway and fifth in the barrels. Annie Joanette and Chelsea Moore were fifth in a pair of events.

UW still is out in front of the women’s regional standings. The Rustler women are a solid second now, nearly a thousand points ahead of Gillette with just one more rodeo to go. CWC will compete in Laramie at the UW rodeo this weekend to close out the regular season portion of their schedule.
