Riverton 9 Cheyenne 8 (10 Innings)
Legion Baseball

The Riverton Raiders won another intense extra innings game at state A baseball against the host Cheyenne Hawks.

Riverton had played and defeated Powell only twenty minutes prior to this contest, as the Raiders would start out sluggish. Cheyenne built a 6-0 lead scoring 4 runs in the 1st and 2 in the 2nd. Riverton began the comeback in the top of the third inning scoring 5 runs. That inning would last nearly 50 minutes as there was a 35 minute rain delay after the first out. Franklin Asmundsen got the rally going with a double, Dallas Olsen scored from that double. Doss Winter hit a sac fly to bring home Matt Raymond in the inning as well.

Riverton would get tie up the ballgame in the top of the 7th inning to force extras as Tyler Larsen doubled, advanced to third on a fielders choice, then a Matt Raymond sac fly brought him home. They would take a 9-8 lead in the top of the tenth and hang on for the win. Trevor Wilson got the win and the save after coming on in relief for Isaac Hermann.

Cheyenne's season is done, Riverton plays Saturday morning at 10:00AM against the loser of Wheatland and Douglas Friday night. *NOTE* Saturday's schedule has been changed, game times are now 10:00AM and 1:00PM!
