The Riverton Raiders are the only team left in state A baseball from the west side of the state as a #4 seed.
Riverton struck first in the top of the first inning Isaac Hermann and Matt Raymond hit back to back singles, Raymond brought in Hermann to make it 1-0. Powell would come up with 3 runs on 2 hits in the bottom half of that inning. They would tack on two more in the bottom of the 2nd to make it 5-1 Pioneers.
The comeback was on for Riverton in the third inning. Riverton got a 3 run shot from Trevor Wilson, his 20th of the season, and a 2 RBI double from Franklin Asmundsen scoring Doss Winter and Jaron Monroe. Riverton collected 6 runs in the 3rd on 5 hits and took the lead at 7-5.
The score would stay that way until the bottom of the 6th inning, Powell got a RBI single from Grant Giesr scoring Ethan Young.
Riverton got what would become the game winning run in top of the 7th as Trevor Wilson reached on a base hit, was sac bunted over and came home on a wild pitch.
Franklin Asmundsen took the win for Riverton, Trevor Wilson got the save on the mound. The Raiders play again Friday against Cheyenne at 4:00PM, Powell is done for the year.
