Man accused in fatal beating arrested in Montana

BILLINGS, Mont. (AP) - Officers in Billings arrested a man wanted for a fatal beating in Riverton after they noticed the suspect's last name tattooed on the side of his head.

Dan Orr is a supervisory deputy with the U.S. Marshals Service. He says officers arrested 26-year-old Sterling Wolfname at the Montana Rescue Mission on Tuesday evening.

Wolfname was wanted in Riverton, for his alleged role in the July 30th beating of 32-year-old Ernest Jenkins at a party. Jenkins died the next day at a Casper hospital. Wolfname, along with 21 year old Basil Blackburn and 26 year old Vincent Yellowbear were formally charged August 6th with second degree murder, conspiracy to commit aggravated assault, and felony restraint.

Officers were at the mission working on another case when they happened to walk past Wolfname and recognized him from information they had from Wyoming. They arrested him after they noticed a tattoo on the side of his head that said "Wolfname."

Wolfname is being held on one million dollars bond in Billings awaiting extradition back to Wyoming.
