CASPER, Wyo. (AP) _ Cody Wade's 3.7-second run in the steer wrestling competition vaulted him to first place after three rounds at the College National Finals Rodeo on Wednesday.

Wade, a junior at Weber State University, has a total time of 12.3 seconds for the overall lead in that event. His third-round time was 1/10th of a second ahead of Wes Lockard of the University of Nevada-Las Vegas and Ryle Smith of Tarleton State University.

In breakaway roping, Sarah Mulholland from the University of Wyoming has the overall lead in that event despite not having the fastest times.

Her total through three rounds equals 9.2 seconds.

Joe Mundorf of Central Wyoming College is currently second in the bareback in the third go. Bryan Jones is 13th. Colt Hamaker sits 15th in the third go of the saddle broncs. Annie Joanette is 10th in the barrels in round three while Jessica Pichetti is 11th in the breakaway.

The Rustler men currently sit 16th in the National Team Standings while the ladies are 23rd.

More third round events are scheduled in Casper on Thursday night.
