Cougar Boys Lead County Finish in West Regional
Track and Field

The Wind River boys had a little bit of everything in their 75 point win over the rest of the 2A West field in Lander.

The only bigger domination was the Mountain View girls scoring 254 points in the 2A girls division. Thermopolis was second with 90. The defending 3A champs ran away from the Bobcats who were also 3A last year. Amber Henry won the 400, 800, 1600, and the 3200 meter runs.

Individually for the Cougar boys, Trey Simmons won the high jump, Zane Bell won the 800 and the 1600 and was second in the 3200 meters to Wyoming Indian's Caleb HerManyHorses. Doug Jordan raced to first in the 300 hurdles. Bell, Jordan, Brent Horton, and Trent Jordan won the 4 by 400 relay. Doug Jordan was also second in the triple jump. Tyler Downing was second in both of the throws.

The Dubois girls finished third in the 1A race as did the Ram Boys.

Lindsay Copeland was a four event winner. The Senior won the 100, the 200, and both hurdle events scoring 40 of her team's 103 points. The Lady Rams also won the 4 by 100 relay with Anna Vanuga, Carly Ideker, Julia Collins, and Jenna Johnson.

Robert Betts won the 110 high hurdles and finished second in the 100 and the 200. Robert was on the winning 4 by 100 relay with Shane Grove, Jeremy Brandle and Levi Vanuga. The foursome of Riley Copeland, Mike Slawiak, Grove and Vanuga also won the 4 by 400 relay.

Wyoming Indian saw champions in Caleb HerManyHorses in the 3200. He was also on the Chiefs' winning 4 by 800 relay with Keller Duran, Leland Hill, and Marlin Medicinehorse.
