Old Pen at Rawlins, Wyoming
RAWLINS, Wyo. (AP) _ Groups looking for ghosts in the former state prison in Rawlins will be charged $20 an hour from now on.
Director Tina Hill decided to impose the fee in response to increasing requests to look for the paranormal in the former prison, known locally as the Old Pen.
Last summer, one group came to see if the prison was haunted. Hill said she has had five such inquiries so far this year.
Self-described investigators often stay at the prison for between six and eight hours on a weekend night. They look for temperature changes, make sound recordings and wander the halls with cameras.
Hill said she has to provide at least one guide to such groups.
Regular tours costs $7 for an adult.
