The Wyoming High School Activities Association has released 2009 high school football schedules. And of course things look very different this year with the re-class shfufle. 4A is now the largest division and there will be a six-man football league. Riverton drops to 3A for next season and will open the 09 season by hosting a familier foe in the Powell Panthers. Week two features a trip to Afton to play Star Valley, the Wolverines host Lander in week 3, then go back to back road trips to Rawlins and Buffalo. Week six and seven feature games at Tonkin Stadium with Torrington and senior night against Douglas, then the last week of the regular season a trip to Wheatland.
Lander will have home games with Rawlins, Cody, Worland, and Powell then go to Buffalo Riverton, Jackson and Star Valley.
In class 2A this year will be the Wyoming Inidan Chiefs, WIHS opens at home with wind river, other home games in week 3 vs Greybull week 4 vs Kemmerer and week 7 vs Mountain View. Then road trips to big horn, lymman, lovell, and pinedale.
1A fremont county football schedules for Wind River just told you they open at Wyoming Indian, then host Shoshoni, then at Dubois for three fremont county games to start teh season. Wind River will host Rocky Mountain Burlington and Riverside and have trips to saratoga and cokeville in the second half of the season.
Shoshoni opens by hosting Pine Bluffs then will have home games against Burlington, Riverside and in the final week against Dubois. road trips for the wranglers to wind river, cokeville, rocky mouontain and saratoga.
Then finally in 1A the Dubois Rams open at home also by hosting Upton, then a road trip to Rocky Mountain back to back home games vs wind river and saratoga, a trip to burlington, week six will be the rams final home game against cokeville and finish the year with trips to riverside and shoshoni.
And starting in 2009 there will be a new addition to the fremont county football family in ft. washakie, the fort will be on the road to midwest to start the year, then the first ever home game against Kaycee in week two. Farson-Eden, Ten Sleep, adn Hanna are the other Ft. Washakie home games, then road trip sto Little Snake River, Guernsey-Sunrise, and Meeteetse.
